Synopsis: Rosa Balistreri, now elderly and nearing the end of her career, tries to repair her fractured relationship with her daughter Angela, who has long believed Rosa chose fame over family. Living in Angela’s cellar and performing in small Sicilian villages to support herself, Rosa confronts memories of childhood hardship, an abusive marriage, and her hard-won rise as “the singer of the south,” fighting her past in hopes of one last chance at reconciliation.
